ABOUT ME

I am Dr. Savannah Patel, a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized training in reproductive and integrative psychiatry.

I received my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University and earned my medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport. I completed my psychiatry residency at Tulane University, where I developed a strong interest in the relationship between physical health, psychological well-being, and the broader circumstances that shape an individual's mental health. I have been a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2023.

As my clinical interests evolved, I pursued additional training in reproductive psychiatry, with a particular focus on the unique psychiatric needs of women during preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and lactation.

I am a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI) and have completed its specialized perinatal mental health training and certification requirements to become a Perinatal Mental Health-Certified (PMH-C) provider.

I am also a member of the International Society of Reproductive Psychiatry (ISRP), a professional organization dedicated to advancing knowledge and clinical care in reproductive mental health.

My professional interests include the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and postpartum, the management of psychiatric medications during conception and lactation, and the integration of lifestyle and nutritional interventions into conventional psychiatric treatment.
